Positioning in a Close baby carrier

I just got this carrier as I wanted something like a Moby but easier to put on and take off. I really like it but I can't seem to get it positioned as (I think) it's supposed to be, with the back cross on my mid to lower back and the rings at hip height. It always sits much higher than that and it's hard to get DD low enough down that I can tuck her head in to the shoulder strap once she's asleep. She's only 8 weeks old so that really shouldn't be a problem as it's supposed to be suitable for much bigger babies/toddlers. It also means that quite often I can't sit down once she's in as her head is in the way of my chin!

Does anyone have any experience of this that they could help me with? I tried just putting it on a bit looser to let the cross and rings come down lower but then it didn't seem tight enough to hold her securely. I have tried googling etc but can't seem to find much of help.

Try youtube, some excellent sling tutorials on there. There is also a really good fb group for sling advice pm me for info :)

I used this carrier loads for the first year or so of my ds's life and loved it. The cross over bit was always pretty high on my back though, and the rings more like waist than hips. I'm quite tall with a long body, don't know if that affected it.

Can you find out if there is a "babywearing group" or sling library in your local area? They should be able to help you to make sure you are using the sling safely and comfortably. :)

I have a Close and the cross sits high on my back & the rings sit on my hips too. I don't think it would be tight enough any other way.

As you tighten it before you put the baby in, keep pulling down the cross at the back and pulling the rings forward to the front of your hips rather than behind or above them.

Are you short in the torso? Sometimes that can make it trickier, especially if your baby is long.

The 'suitable for bigger babies/toddlers' is a myth. It is weight tested to a toddler weight (i.e it won't break) but in my experience not comfy beyond 6 months ish. That said, it is a carrier that many people do like in the early days.
