Hi all. My baby is 8 weeks old and I'd like to get a carrier to use with him essentially for the school run, but probably for other short trips too. I already have a Moby which is fine for now, but would like something that allows for face out or back carrying, is lightweight and easy/quick to put on, and will last until he's older. Our local sling library is closed this month so I can't try things out there unfortunately. Want to have ideas of what to look out for 2nd hand. Many thanks!

If you are already good with moby you could try a woven wrap or for something quicker a mei tai... I know babyhawk are good. Someone with more expertise will recommend on woven wraps I'm sure!

Have a look at a connecta maybe?

We have the Ergo, and although not the easiest to use on your back, it's really supportive. Unfortunately, it doesn't allow baby to be forward facing (only faces you).

If you really want something that will let you do a facing out carry then the Beco Gemini does that as well as front facing in and back carries - HOWEVER front facing our is not a great position - not good for your back or your babies. Better with a back carry where they're nice and high up and can see things that way.

Thanks everyone for your advice and ideas. Will keep an eye out for the recommended brands 2nd hand and see how I get on with them.
