The Close Caboo, how does it stack up against the connecta and manduca please

I had the latter on my shortlist after asking for an alternative to a wrap/babasling, something soft structured, easy to put on that I can use from birth in the house whilst tending to my toddler. I do have a bjorn Comfort Carrier, for later on and trips out (although I see they are not very popular on here, it worked great for my dd and I held onto it)

The Connecta/Manduca are quite pricey whereas the Caboo is on offer in mothercare and I have vouchers to spend, so wondering if it is an OK alternative, in the pictures there appears to be little support for the head? But cant tell how old the baby is.

Thank you

I loved my close for when ds was little but found by about 6 months that it wasn't so comfortable for me anymore. Although OH kept using it until about 9 months. The Close has good support when facing in. It give the baby the ability to be in M/froggy/squat leg position and the head can be supported by the fabric provided the face is visible. There isn't much support if the baby is facing out. I found the baby facing out really hard work on my back!

Both Connecta/Madudcas are good brands. You can pick them up second hand and they tend to retain their second hand value. What I;ve found with slings is you need to find one that works for you. So for me I like Mei tais but other people like wraps or SSC. If you google Sling Library or Sling meet there might be one near you so you could touch or feel them first.

I had a close when DD was teeny tiny and loved it and moved onto the connecta when she was a bit older (4/5 months) and still love it now and she is 14 months old. ]

The only problem with close was that it used to make my shoulders sore. No such problems with the connecta.

I don't think the Caboo lasts nearly as long. Some people love it but I think a lot of people complain of sore shoulders/upper back even with quite a small baby. I'd spend the extra and go for Connecta or Manduca to be honest....they will both last considerably longer.

They are totally different products IMO.

The Caboo is good as a newborn sling. An alternative to a kari me or something for those who don't want to tie.

But it isn't the same as a Manduca or Connecta, which will carry larger, heavier babies.

If you want it for newborn, Close will be fine. If you plan to use it long term...hmm... not sure. I loved a wrap for newborn and a SSC for back carries and front on an older baby.

I had a Close - used it every day from birth to about 5 months. It's basically a stretchy wrap that you don't have to tie so super easy to use.

By 5-6 months you need something more supportive though and the Connecta/Manduca/other SSC will last til they are 2. If I was buying just one I would go for an SSC that will see you from birth to toddler.
