Connecta or something else?

I've lent a connecta off a friend and I love it. However she had it 2nd hand and so it feels comfy because it's been used. Are the new ones a bit 'stiff'?

What are the alternatives to connectas?

Dd is 10 months and weighs just over 19lb
Thanks in advance.

I have a beko gemini (well actually I have two as we have twins), it is early days but so far we love! Nice and soft and easy to put on in all 4 postions (front facing in, front facing out, hip, back)

I have a rose & rebellion which I think is fairly similar to a connecta. The only difference now it's more used is that the straps are easier to fasten as they naturally bend towards me, when it was new they were very straight and quite difficult to reach behind me to grab - didn't take long for them to bend tho Grin

Yes, definitely try a few out if you can as it's very individual- ceevee loves her Gemini but I tried one and hated it, so if you're thinking about buying something different then try it out first (otherwise you end up like me with a few slings that you don't really like). I recently tried out an Action Baby Carrier which was very comfy.

If you love the Connecta then could you buy a second hand one that's already broken in a bit? Have you tried a new one to see how stiff it is?

Thanks ladies. I will try and pop along to to a sling meeting this month to try a few out.

EauRouge - you are right, i do love this connecta and the friend will want it back soon Sad. I have an Ebay search set up on email for 2nd hand ones that come up but they don't come up that often. Any ideas where else people sell them 2nd hand other than Ebay?

I love my Connecta, have only been using it 2 weeks Smile
I tried to get a 2nd hand one on eBay but was never successful and they always sold for nearly full price anyway - v popular! So I just bit the bullet and bought a lovely new one. DS constantly sleeps in it Smile

There's this selling group on facebook www.facebook.com/groups/209783279077720/ maybe you'd get one there?

shuckleberryfinn · 17/06/2012 07:26

Doh! obviously too early in the morning for me. www.facebook.com/groups/209783279077720/

Very tempted bobby Grin I noticed they hold their price too, but i suppose if 2nd hand they're a bit more worn in.

Thanks shuckle., I've requested to join that group as its a closed one. Will see if I can get one on there.
