Have and love my karri me but too hot for hot days and would like to try DD on my back. She is 1 and about 19 lbs. mainly short journeys eg school run and need to tie it alone.
Your experiences please?

I would go for a mei tai as I found that a woven wrap was not quite as supportive for my dc when they were that size. I also found it cooler.

Thanks. There are some nice ones on eBay do you think they are ok? It looks like they have padding on the straps - cant really stretch to the more expensive brands...

I don't know, I made my own :)

Was pretty easy, took half an afternoon.

Ok. I definitely can't do that! Smile

It's basically just a square of cloth with some straps on it, so I can't think of any reason why you need to splash out on an expensive brand....the only risk is that if the fabric is stretchy it might not hold your dd as well, that I can think of.

Have ordered a second hand one off eBay. Looking forward to trying it.

I use a mai tei. I went to see lady about using a woven, and in my opinion it's a serious commitment on the learning front - I was quite shocked at how tricky it was!

Oh, I see I have spelt mei tai wrong. Just goes to show what I know.
