Experiences please?
Comfy as a moby wrap?
Supportive?

I've not tried a solarweave, but their Connecta Integra is very comfy, quick & easy. It's not the plush-est SSC as part of the straps is webbing, rather than padded fabric. Bonus of the UV filtery material is great though.

At risk of sounding really silly, SSC?

SSC = Soft structured carrier (Some people refer to soft carriers like the Connecta as a 'buckle tai' and carriers with a more structured waistband like the Ergo as a SSC, and sometimes by "SSC" people mean anything with buckles)

IMO it isn't as comfy as a stretchy, nor as supportive as a buckle carrier with a more structured waist. But it depends on your preference - some people hate structured waists and much prefer a lighter weight carrier.

The big pros to the Solarweave Connecta are:

  • It is cool for summer
  • It folds to tiny - smaller than anything else I can think of. You could literally put it in your jacket pocket.

Personally in hot weather I use a ring sling or a light weight woven wrap for a small-ish baby, and a solarveil SSC like the solarveil bamberoo or a lightweight woven wrap for a toddler/preschooler.

How old is your little one?

She is only 5 weeks atm, but I can't stretch to getting more than new wrap :(
And not near a sling library so need something versatile.
On some days I am likely to be wearing for long periods of time. So back and shoulder support are really important to me as my neck and shoulder does play up occasionally.
So maybe a mei tai would be better there are just so many. It's hard to know which is a good one.
Other option is to grin and bare it using my Moby only when desperate then go back to regular use of it once hot weather passes.

What about a Lenny Lamb bamboo wrap? they are really really light and because it's bamboo the fabric is breathable so cool and as they're a woven they are supportive, more so than the moby.

They're pretty cheap too. www.babycalm.co.uk/product/Lenny-Lamb-Bamboo-Woven-Wrap-Sling
