what is best?

I have a Boba carrier which is suitable from 5months/15lb.

dc2 due in a week. I just want a carrier option for when we're at childrens centres etc keeping watch on 18m dd...

On a budget too. been looking on ebay, but just not sure what one?

A stretchy wrap - something like a Moby or Kari Me - the latter is thinner so probably better for summer. You should be able to get one for £12-18ish on ebay. Looks a daunting amount of material to start with but you tie it on first then pop the baby in and out, and you soon get used to it.

Not BB, definitely something you can support knee to knee in and is kinder on your back.

Mei Tei or stretchy is a matter of personal preference really. I do like stretchies for newborn because I think they're more enclosing and womblike do I figure it must be nicer for them Smile

and what about breastfeeding friendly?

Boba wraps are the best thing ever and bf friendly too. There are loads of instructional videos on you tube to practice tying them and you can put them on at home and leave them tied even when baby not in it eg driving etc. I never had a wrap or carrier for my first 2 and won a sleepy wrap (now called a boba wrap) after my 3rd and so wish I had got it from newborn.

I managed to crack feeding in a stretchy wrap after about a month with DS and bear in mind I was learning wrapping and feeding at the same time! I'm hoping the next one will be feeding while wrapped sooner.

BB kills your back after a while, even the "synergy" and "active ones. We have an Ergo, which is fab. Although you need an insert from newborn until they are at least 7kgs.

Really don't rate Palm & Pond. Straps too thin, material not very supportive. I would steer clear.

I loved my Moby. Check out Victoria Slinglady for cheaper wraps.

Sleepy Wrap. Better than the other stretchy wraps as it has a bit of lycra in so more snug and can be tied tighter.
