Have my nice new babyhawk, and all excitedly tried 5 month DD in it.

She hated it! Shock She loves her stretchy but I want to do back carries...

I think this is because she is quite deep in it... how high should her head come? Do i need to roll the waist band?> Any tips?

You can fold back the head rest if it is bothering her by being too high. And yes, you can roll the waistband to make it shorter if it is still too long. At 5 months I'd still want some of it behind her neck for head support, but it doesn't need to come up much higher than that.

When you put her in, try and get her in a good mood, tie it and then go for a walk straight away - she'll get used to it much more easily if you keep moving rather than stand still. Once she is more used to it you won't have to move as much.

Thanks! I tried her in again this evening with the wait rolled and quick marched around the garden - she seemed much happier on the move! It's quite stiff and the shoulder straps were her eye height and she's a nosy so and so... Grin

The higher you tie the waist band the higher she will end up on you back too. How about using a woven wrap instead if you want to do back carries and she liked the stretchy.

always make sure she is fed/changed/rested before you try and do anything new with them. It took my son 3 weeks of simply being put on my back before he accepted it.

I'm too scared to try a woven basically!
