Ergo Infant Insert – correct head position??

I have been using the Ergo with the Infant Insert for my 6 week old baby. I find it comfortable to wear and I think my baby is comfortable in it. However, I am constanty worried about his position. He tends to lean forward, so his head is resting on my chest. If he falls asleep, his head sometimes slumps down, so I have to raise it up to make sure his windpipe isn't being crushed. It makes me panicky and I find myself waking him up and adjusting his position so frequently that I have started to dread using the carrier.

Am I doing something wrong? Any tricks to make sure he's positioned correctly?

If you look on the instructions here www.ergobabycarrier.com/media/pdf/heart2heart.pdf point 9 mentions an adjustment to avoid slouching forward - that might help. There are some general guidelines on sling positioning here too www.slumber-roo.com/downloads/TICKS.pdf

Thanks for that. I would love to know how other people position their infants...I still am unsure how he should be leaning.

is it the new (heart to heart) or older style blanket type insert?

The new heart2heart.

Definately ensure you follow the TICKs guidelines. Also do ensure you do the step where it says to put both hands in and I would fold the head support bit down a bit. Also double check you have got the ergo itself tight enough
