Baby now 2 weeks old - how old does he need to be when I can put him in the sling with his legs out?

Probaby not the best description but I can't remember the correct way to describe the position! Basically I have a Calin Bleu stretchy wrap. I had it with DS1 but he was a fair bit older when I started using it so I always had him in the position where, though still in the "frog" position, his legs were sticking out, like a baby in, say, a Baby Bjorn would be.

I've tried to tie the CB sling in different ways using videos from YouTube, and have also tried to put DS in it tying it as I would normally but with his legs inside, but I have problems with both my ability to tie it well, and with DS actually liking being in it.

I think he would be more comfy with his legs out, but I'm worried he's too young. He really likes being held so I could really do with being able to pop him in the sling at home so I can do more stuff!

Is it ok to try that position? (he's now just over 7lb)

I think you could do it now really. Does it say you can't in the instructions? I had a Close baby carrier which looks a bit like the Calin Bleu tied with legs out and I used that from birth with both my daughters. Baby Bjorns are suitable from birth too.

If froggy isn't comfortable you could try legs out, just make sure you go knee to knee, you could even do one leg froggy and The other leg out and see if she is comfortable with that.

I do legs out from birth in a stretchy wrap if the baby seems to prefer that
