Ergo: putting it together, help needed

Hello everyone. I am in desperate need of advice. I bought an Ergo carrier off Ebay but the buckles at the back came loose in the packaging, i.e. they are no attached to the carrier. But I've absolutely no idea how to put it together because the instructions booklet assumes it's all one piece, so it only talks about how to fasten everything.

If anyone has an Ergo carrier could you please help me? I'm absolutely desperate and can't work it out! Thanks!

Do you mean the chest strap? If so then you just unbuckle the shoulder straps and slide them on. Are you sure it's genuine? I believe there are a lot of fakes on Ebay.

You Tube video might help and bit, at least so you can see how it should look.

If you want to do a hip carry then you need to undo the shoulder straps again, and buckle a different way.

There should be bits of elastic to put the buckles through too. Hope that helps!

Have the straps got loops of elastic on the ends (i.e. the ends of the webbing bits) so that you can roll them up? My Ergo does, and this would usually stop the straps coming off?

Is it the shoulder straps, or waist, or both?

I would second what a pp said about checking it is genuine. There is a thread on Natural Mamas with some info on fakes....you might need to register to read it but there's too much info + photos to paste here:

Aaarrrgh! Thanks everyone for your help. I think we got a fake! We bought it off Ebay (not such a bargain really) and that'll teach me... Thanks again. I'll try and get my money back.

If you paid by Paypal you'll get your money back. But please try to persuade Paypal to get you to send them the carrier, rather than the seller, as it is actively dangerous and the seller will just flog it to someone else - whose baby may not be so lucky. Please, please report this to Trading Standards as well, as the seller is placing infants at risk for monetary gain.

Thanks! I've written to Ebay/Paypal with the links to the different discussions about fake carriers and I'm hoping they'll reply. The buyer is swearing blind they didn't know and that they bought it and sold it on without opening it. Either way, I'm reporting it to Ebay.
