Ergo and tall 7 week old

My son's 7 weeks old but really tall/long (98 centime). I've got an ergo with infant onset and haven't tried it yet. Im worried though that he may not comfortably fit in the insert given his length but think he needs the support given he's so young.
Just wondering if anyone had experienced using the same carrier with a tall infant?

7 weeks and 98cm? Are you sure - my 14 month old is only about 80cm tall.

Yes, I think you will probably still need the insert for a while. You can always try it with and without though.

I tried my 6 week old in the Ergo without the insert the other day (don't have one). Don't know how tall she is, but she seemed fine & comfortable, stayed in for several hours napping etc...
