What is so wrong with a baby bjorn?

I have seen quite a few comments saying that baby bjorns are no good for you or the baby....can someone explain why? We used ours loads when DD was a baby and I was planning on using it again for next dc.

I tried one when my oldest was a few weeks old, and even then it pulled my shoulders and back.

As loopsy says, much better slings on the market for the same price.

There are also much better slings available for less than a babybjorn.
Also I would hate to be a walking advertisement - most of the other slings available imo are much more stylish and individual

I really liked my björn. It made me feel vaguely Scandinavian.

Thanks everyone - may well look into a soft one for dc2. I do remember DD growing out of babybjorn fairly quickly and it getting harder on my/DHs back the older she got. Perhaps I'll flog the bjorn on eBay and use the proceeds to get an alternative :)
