facing out front carrier

Hi,

Posted the other day as am considering a Rose and Rebellion to replace Baby Bjorn which is getting mighty uncomfortable.

However, it occurs to me what we will miss is the facing out on the front position. Are there any SSCs that allow that position? I can do it with my wrap, but it is a bit of a faff, I want something I can pop her in easily if possible.

Have just seen there's something called a Pikkolo which claims to do this - has anyone got one?

I am no expert but I have read on here several times recently that the front facing out position is now thought to be bad for your baby's spine and also not particularly good for the adult's back either .

I' m sure someone will be along shortly with the link to the proper information regarding this .

The rose and rebellion carriers are great. Still carrying heavy 15mt. But I don't do front out, I like carrying dcs so I can talk to them. I'd get an r&r

I have a Connecta which I believe is very similar to a Rose and Rebellion .
I have used it since DD was 8 months old and could still carry her in it now ( she is a smallish 3 year old ) . If you like the look of the r and r then go for it - they look very cool. :)

The Beco Gemini (but not the Beco Butterfly) will let you do this, but it knackers your back. And isn't great for your wee one either, apparently. If you're keen to have your LO facing forwards, a back carry will be much better on your back.

We have a Beco Gemini and so far it's brilliant. It has a really wide waist strap so most of the weight is on your hips, rather than your shoulders. DD has been in it from about 3 months and is now 8 months.

I had also read that link, but some of what they say is wrong - it is easy to do FFO with a wrap in a way that keeps her legs in a sitting position. I may not b able to do it much lOnger but right now I cart her around in my arms FFO as she won't sit still facing me or on my hip, so I figured if I could use a sling to do that round the house and garden it would save my arms if not my back!!

Might go for the r&r anyway though...

The Beco website have the weight limit as 7-35lb (3.5-16kg) which I don't think is small! My 2.5 year DD isn't quite 12kg!

I was certainly under the impression that it has the same size/weight range as the Beco Butterfly, which I have and comfortably fits my DD.
