DS doesn't like his sling anymore

He's 3.5mo. I've used it since newborn (it's a Moby) and he loved it then, but recently will on be in it for 10 mins before he gets agitated. I've changed his position so his legs are out now, but it doesn't seem to help, he prefers me carrying him so he is facing out (not very practical with a toddler to contain as well). Is there a way of 'wearing him' so he faces out? I've had to resort to getting the pram out, which is so much of a faff!

Try a woven so you can do a back or hip carry?

DS fussed about being wrapped at that stage - apparently it's a common phase.

Where can I get a woven sling? Got the Moby from Amazon. Is it not possible to do a hip carry with the one I've got? Not sure about putting him on my back - is it safe?

yeah you can wear him facing out in the moby. literally just put him in the other way round.. think the instructions are in the booklet if you still have it

A back carry is perfectly safe but NOT in a Moby. I don't think I'd hip carry in one either tbh as hip carries don't tend to be multi-layer with the supporting crosses. I also wouldn't personally put him facing out.

Wovens are available all over the place really and although they can seem expensive bear in mind that you can use them for years as they have a higher weight limit than a Moby and they're much more versatile.

There are specialist sling retailers like Mama Natura or you can buy secondhand from various websites.

I used to face DS out in the moby at that age.... did the hip carry for a while once he was older too - but then he learnt this amazing kamikaze baby thing and I realised a stretchy wrap when they get mobile doesn't always work (7m) so we have a mei tei now, you should get a few more months out of the moby though

You can also do a hip carry in a moby. I think the instructions are online somewhere. Just cross over the fabric (bit where baby's bottom goes) at the side rather than at the front.
