Which Sling/Baby Carrier

DS3 is 6 weeks old today, and am thinking about getting a sling or carrier - is it still worthwhile given he is 6 weeks old? If so, any recommendations. Am looking for something to use out and about so my hands are free for DSs 1 and 2!

Still worthwhile? Blimey yes, most carriers will last you for years, and even if you don't use it daily, still handy to have for emergencies or walks you'd prefer to be buggy-free.

What attracts you? Do you need quick and easy and best for newborns, or do you mind learning something a little fiddly but will last you for ages?

If you can be faffed learning to use something like a wrap, then how about a Close baby carrier, or an Ergo (with the infant insert). Latter is tres pricey, even second hand, but I can still carry my nearly 4yr DD1 in an emergency (like when she properly hurt her knee, miles from a bus, with DD2 in the buggy so couldn't swap them over.) And you can use it front, back or side.

Think Kari-me retains its stretch a little better but yeah, not much to choose. Good thing about a stretchy wrap is that you can pre tie & leave it on & just pop babe in & out.

Close carrier & tricotti have similar properties but need a little less practise, however still would go for wrap as all round better if you're willing to give it a try. Really does only need a couple of tries to crack it and as PP says, plenty of folk will be happy to help
