Keeping babies in shade?

What do people do to keep their baby shaded from the sun when carrying them in a sling or carrier in sunny weather?

A big sun hat (me or her or both). I try to avoid going out with her in the sling in v hot weather anyway because she ends up sticking to me. What sort of sling are you using?

Thanks, good idea! Baby born at the moment, although I have a moby which I'd prefer to have her in but still trying to get the hang of it.

Oh, I just got a stretchy wrap too, it is a bit tricky to start with! A MNer pointed me in the direction of this site, it's the same sort of thing but with clear instructions and a really good FAQ bit. I've had mine nearly a week now so it still takes me ages to tie it properly but it's flipping brilliant once it's done.

I've been using an umberella. It's good because it shades me as well as baby. I fancy i look like something out of the 1850's but may look a little crazy.

Thanks for the advice. Have bought sun hats for us both and an umbrella that looks quite summery. Sun has disappeared.
