I want to get a carrier but I'm completely overwhelmed by the choice. I have a DD who is 2.3 (and 25lbs) and a DS who is 1 (and 27lbs). I'd like:

? to be able to use it for either child
? suitable from newborn (may be TTC DC3 soon)
? front, back and hip carry
? suitable for DH (5' 8") and me (5' 2")
? easy to use while pushing a double pushchair

I've got a budget of about £100. Does anyone have any recommendations? I can give more info if necessary. Thanks :)

Ergo baby carrier- I use it for dd who is same as your eldest. With an insert you can use from
Newborn. I wish I had it sooner- you can use it as front back or side carrier- it's secure but comfy and can be adjusted so dh can use it too.
Also love hood on it that means you can put it on to support little ones when sleeping.

You want a meitai - you can carry children of all sizes in them, they are versatile, fit anyone (if either of you is slightly larger round, look for one with xl straps to give you more choices), easy to chuck in a bag or basket, and low priced. Check out the yahoo ukbabywearingswap group for second hand

Thank you both, I'll go and have a look at both of those now

Agree on the meitai- we have a few different ones but like the Snugbaby best. Have used it with 2 kids now and carried DD in it until she was 2.5 years and with our baby from birth
