Anyone tried a Scootababy?

It gets good MN reviews, but I'm wondering how comfy it would be for more than half an hour, given the weight of the baby is on one side.

Are they reversible? i.e. can you swap them to the other shoulder?

Any other suggestions for a soft structured carrier for a heavy 6 month old gratefully received!

I've not tried a scootababy, but I reckon a proper 2 shouldered soft structured carrier would be more comfortable.

Something like a Beco, Ergo, Patapum?

If you specifically want a hip carrier, I'd go for a ringsling.

I have a scootababy and can comfortably carry my 2.3 year old for over an hour - you can't change sides but because the weight is on one hip and the opposite shoulder it feels fairly even. You can move baby/toddler to your back. My ds has SN and can't walk so I have to carry him a lot. There's a great video on the scootababy site and it really is that easy to use! DS's physio also had a look at me carrying him and she said my posture was good side carrying him.
