Anyone made a mei tai?

Has anyone made their own mei tai carrier? what's the most fool proof tutorial?

I've made 3 using this tutorial. I used much nicer material though.

Presumably since you made 3 you liked them then? What material did you use?

I used material from Ikea!

They all worked out great and 2 were used for my heffalump toddler and 1 I made for a friend and she loves hers too.

They are really easy to make and there's no waste with the material either. It cost about £10 to make each which is a bargain.

Oh and I found the link for the tutorial on the Natural Mamas forum. They are all sling crazy there and know what they are doing - have you had a look on there?

Thanks, I have been having a look on there. I was look at a tute which has a hood/headrest but not sure if it is a bit too faffy. What age would you start with a mei tai? Dd is only 8 weeks so thinking of saving this project till after Xmas.

I made this one and used it from about 8 weeks.
