Patapum - any good?

Hi ladies,

Does anyone have a Patapum carrier, and if so would you recommend it?

I'm looking for a carrier I can get DS, 8mo, into quickly and easily on my own (for this reason I don't get on with wraps etc) - buckles and clips etc seem to work for me!

I need it to be safe for his hips / groin etc though, hence no Baby Bjorn etc.

I'd like the option to carry him front and back, and this seems to fulfil all my needs... What do you think? (Or any other recommendations, if you don't fancy this Patapum!)

I got this one - it was my lifesaver in my old flat due to impossible stair situation. My son was huge and very hard for me to carry.

This sling is awesome. It feels really safe, ds loved it and I felt happy using it - was really easy to get on and off.

It's really sturdy which is great as ds so big, and when dh and I went on hols it was great for strapping ds ontp dh's bck. Dsloved being so high up and interacting with us and was comfy for him.

Highly recommend it.

And I used it until recently - ds just turned 25 months :)

Yep, it's a good option. Might be worth getting the toddler version, I didn't find them that big tbh. Pretty much the same as, but half the price of, an Ergo.

Can I just ask, having read the wearing instructions on the Patapum website it looks like you need assistance to get the bubba in if you're wearing him on your back. Is this right, or can you manage it on your own somehow?

you can do it on your own, just takes a little practise.
we had a toddler one, which we used with DD from about 11months, we could've used it earlier, so at 8m I'd def think about getting the toddler rather than the baby, carried DD in it until she was well over 2.
