Is there a double hip carrier out there?

Or any (cheap) way to combine two Hippychick HipSeat style cariers?
To explain, I take part in a fairly big bonfire procession and need to be able to carry my 2 and 3 year old children on my own. Last year I used a moby, but this year they will want to walk some of the time and I will need to be able to scoop them up in a hurry-there will be no time to re-wrap them as the procession is very large and fast moving. I have the added problem that it starts at 6 ish, and continues 'till well after midnight so I think I'll have to (if I find this carrier) find some way of securing comfortably when they sleep.
Am I asking for the moon on a stick?

We ended up getting dp's hiking rucksack and shoving dd in there so she could watch and sleep, but there was only one of her (she was 5 though). No help, but if they could both fit? [clutching at straws emoticon]

Thank you for the suggestion, but I don't think that I'd be able to lift them in or out as and when they need it. I need to be able to pick them up and carry them in a hurry as my society won't wait for me! They weigh roughly the same so I'd like to distribute their weight equally as I reckon including all the processions I'll be walking about eight miles in total (and I'm dreading it!)

if you are dreading it, could you not use 1 sling and 1 pushchair to make your life easier?

Pushchairs in the procession scare me as they are so close to the ground-where all the bangers go off. I know people do it but it's always worried me. I COULD just wrap them both again and not let them march at all, but I was so hoping there was an elusive twin product that would work for me!

i've seen a parent using 2 ring slings, that might be quite poppable, but not sure how comfy for 8 miles....

You can wear two pouch or ring slings at once. If you try to alternate which hip you use as much as possible then it might not be too bad.

Hmm.. just seen they will probably want to sleep at some point. Is there really no way you would consider using a pushchair? Maybe a higher up one, not a Stokke (too expensive!) but a Loola or Britax Vigour or something? I agree a lot of pushchairs seem very close to the ground. If it's anywhere near Warwickshire and not in the next week or two you'd be welcome to borrow my Loola Up. My tall 2 year old slept in it very comfortably this afternoon. It's only a single but I'm told it takes a buggy board very well.

Surely though they will be no closer to the ground in a buggy than they would be walking? You could put a raincover on as well if that would help protect them at all.

I'm trying to work out if two Hippy Chick belt things would work together. Will look at ring slings though. I've been knitting stripey jumpers for what feels like weeks (which is no mean feat considering that I can't knit) so I really hope that I can work this out!

Thank you so much for the offer! I live in Lewes though and to be honest there is so much fire involved that I'd be scared to borrow anything. Plus although the society members are always sensible and safe with bangers (they are ALWAYS dropped to the side of the road, never thrown) there are occasionally members of the public who don't follow the rules so children in buggies just terrify me. And rain covers would just melt in the heat from the torches!

Sorry, am very slow to reply. I'd forgotten about that forum! It was they who taught me how to wrap two babies in one sling. I'll ask them too!
