Facing outwards

i have a moby, it only advises using the seemingly unachievable lotus position for carrying your baby facing outwards, and gives a convincing arguemnt for outwards facing carries being not the best.

the kari-me seems to be virtually identical but on the website has loads of pictures of happy outward facing babies.

so is it ok or not? and if it is ok how? Confused

It's not great for hips (not sufficient support unless feet are tucked in lotus-stylee), and the taller/longer your babe in comparison with your own torso size, the more uncomfortable it can be.

I did carry DD1 in a Kari-Me facing out, but not DD2, partly cos I knew a bit more about the orthopaedic arguments by then, but also because DD2 was taller and I was a more confident wrapper, and so could put her on my back so she could still see better than facing in on my front.

How old is your LO? And have you tried facing out yet? How did it feel?

yes i've tried and it felt all wrong. Me & DS are happy with him inward facing, it just struck me, the different advice from two very similar products, and i wondered why
