Moby D with a silk panel?

A naive question from a first-time mother to be - how practical are Moby D wraps with a silk panel?

Having read lots of threads praising Moby for infants I am planning to get one, and feel tempted by the slightly fancier one with a Thai silk panel. It will probably get baby sick on day one; will it be totally ruined or in your experience the silk washes well? Generally, how often would one wash wraps, especially in the first months?

Thanks!

I don'tknow about the silk, but I usually wash my stretchy wraps about once every couple of weeks if they are in heavy use (and that's just cos I eat in them and drop crumbs all over them!) My baby's never really been very sicky, but the wraps do get the odd bit of drool on them.
