Ergo? Or Not Ergo?

My 8 month old is just about on the limit for his Baby Bjorn which I've used loads and utterly love. He's 91st centile and weighs about 23lbs. He's also 91st centile for heigh. I was planning to get an Ergo very shortly so I can continue to carry him but on my back, but reading some of the posts here, I wonder if this is the best option for us. Any recommendations as to which carrier we should buy? I much prefer more structured carriers - long pieces of cloth that I have to wind round me are waaaay too much for this small baby brain. Thanks.

I love my ergo.
it is really easy to get on and comfortable to wear.
I use it with dd (7 months) who is 9.5 kg (no idea what that is in pounds) and also tall for her age. I like the fact that I don*t have anyhing on my back, the main weight is on the hips so the shoulder straps are only to keep baby upright.

We have a Beco Butterfly II and it's absolutely fabulous! Both me and DH love it! It's great for both front and back carries.
When researching to buy it, we found that it's actually a better design than Ergo - it's longer/higher to support LOs back. Also, there's an 'inside panel' between parent and and child, which means that you can pass the child between parents without taking him/her out!
...might be worth a look
