So, I'll be going on my first holiday abroad in years in February and it's a beach resort. I've struggled with my weight for years and weigh about 14 stone, 5ft 6 in height. Early 40s.
How much weight could I realistically lose over the next 4 months? As well as losing weight, does SW help reduce celulite? My legs are so flabby like orange peel :(

Aim for 2 pounds a week average. Have a great holiday

About 1 to 2 pounds a week on average, so somewhere around 16 to 32 pounds. Exercising/strengthening as well as losing weight will help with the appearance of your legs.

My wee sister has never carried extra weight - her cellulite is shocking

Ive been a dumpling most of my life, not one inch of cellulite

As far as I know you cant get rid of it. Its there and maybe exercise and diet will improve the look , it will still be there

1 or 2 pounds a week.
Some weeks, when I was really strict with myself, I was losing 5lb, I won "Slimmer of the week" twice, my greatest achievement in life 😂.
I liked SW, it kept me on track (accountable) met some nice people, picked up lots of tips for recipes and I still cook SW meals.
Good luck

For cellulite, exercise, drink plenty of water and get an anti cellulite brush (Amazon)

Slimming World is what kickstarted my weight loss. Before that I had tried so many approaches and they didn’t work. Slimming World helped change my mindset and I still use some of the foundations today.

I used Slimming World to get from 13st 2lb to 11st 11lb, after that I hit a plateau and I moved to WW. By this time I had a lot more willpower and I wanted more flexibility.

I then used WW to go from 11st 11lb to 10st 6lb. Which I have been now for a few years. I’ve also been working out at the gym for about 3 years.

Keep telling yourself “nothing tastes as good as the feeling of being slim” and take note of your carb intake. I reckon you could lose 1.5 lbs a week = 24lbs. Good luck.

Has anyone perimenopausal successfully lost weight alone? I exercise 4//5 times a week and eat in calorie deficit but it’s not working, I’m 3 months I’ve lost 3 pounds. Wondering if SW will work? I’m 45, 13.5 stone and 5ft 1. Any advice very gratefully received.

I’m in a really similar situation. Desperate to lose at least a stone by late Jan. I am late 40s and have been weight training with a PT for 6 months, but I’m just not losing weight. He gave me tips on calories and protein intake, but I know I’m still eating too many carbs. Perimenopausal and losing and gaining the same couple of kilos over and over. I was looking at SW today. I did well on it a few years ago, but less successful when I tried a second time. Maybe third time lucky???

I was 58 when I walked into SW and Ive lost over 2 stone and maintained it since - 61 now

I went to the groups because I know I cheat myself if left to my own devices and the support is amazing.

It came of slow, but going group kept me keeping at it. And I do mean slow, some weeks it was just a half lb.

I find SW works for me as I cook for a family - a manual working husband who wants big and hearty, and a mum who's appetite only livens up if its something like fish and chips or egg and chips . With SW Im still giving them the meals they like without having to cook separate for me

I was 49 when I did SW and lost 2 stone, I’ve kept it off for 5 years now. My friend is in her 60s and she lost weight 15 years ago with SW and has kept it off. We both tend to still follow the plan most days but I don’t attend a group, friend goes every 5 weeks for weigh-in to keep her membership.
It worked for me because I didn’t want to be restricted by calorie counting.

I have been doing slimming world since April and have lost 3 and a half stone so far. Really recommend it.
