Starting today, i did it a while ago and worked pretty well,..
life circumstances changed drastically and i stopped going, i have an underactive thyroid, life long struggle, pregnant and only just coming out the woods with Hypermesis, it feels like an insurmountable task tbh but i have to try. i haven't set an actual target because I can't imagine in my condition what a realistic one would be. so i just thought id make a thread, it might end up being a huge mistake as this thread will obvs attract all the dickheads, but we'll see how it goes HmmGrin, how is everyone today?

I really have no words of wisdom in respect of thyroid and weight loss etc but eating more healthily during pregnancy can only be a good thing, you won’t lose weight but it’ll help your body to be in the best condition for delivery!

It isn't insurmountable but the reality is that it will take time. I've set myself an initial goal as like you, I have a lot to lose. My BMI was around 44 at the start and goal number 1 is to get that below 40. I'll still be morbidly obese and unfit but I'll be slightly less obese and unfit than before. Then I'll look at carrying on the good work and reducing my BMI further still until eventually, it's under 30. Once I'm there, then I'll think about my final goal.

I had to change my mindset a bit and acknowledge that there will be lots of little bumps in the road because I have issues with food and emotional eating, and losing weight doesn't magically make those disappear.

What smaller goal feels achievable for you in the next few months? What's realistic for you, especially with your pregnancy and under active thyroid taken into account?
