What’s happened to packets of dried savoury rice?!
Holidayshopping · 05/11/2018 11:57
These used to be about 25p a packet and were brilliant when doing SW but Tesco seemed to have stopped selling them?! It’s not just the Value ones either-they don’t seem to sell any dried savoury rice!
Has anyone else noticed this or can tell me where I can get them from? Not everyone has a microwave and those are really high in points anyway!
It’s this one...

But it’s not just the value range-I can’t find ANY packets of dried savoury rice?!
FusionChefGeoff · 05/11/2018 12:18
Aldi do a range of savoury dried rice but I've no idea if it's any good for SW
weegiemum · 05/11/2018 13:11
Batchors do dried savoury rice, we get it in Asda (yes, for SW)
NinaMarieP · 05/11/2018 13:14
My Tesco groceries app shows these as available, and that's just the golden rice variety.

Check it again in a week or so, when they rebound it disappears for a bit then comes back under a made up company brand.
It's handy because instead of searching for every day value and getting hundreds you can do it in sections like creamfields for dairy, Redmere farms, hearty food Co etc

Sorry two of those are microwave, just noticed! But batchelor's do different flavours of the dried rice, that's what we buy even though we actually have a microwave.
museypants · 07/11/2018 20:55
The batchelors one is actually called super rice not savoury rice so maybe try searching that.

What Syns are the microwave pouches anyway? I assumed they were free. I tend to buy either Tesco or Aldi whole grain.
