Worried I might have lose skin, look haggard/older

Hello

I’m just starting slimming world, I’m 5’5’’, I currently weigh 12.st 5lbs and I’m 47 nearly 48. I’m unsure as to what I want my target weight to be, I would love to say 9st, but the last time I was that weight I was 30 and I’m not sure if that will be too much for me at my age, it might make me look haggard. I never thought about this before when I said I was joining slimming world, it’s my sister who has made me think like this (she has a lovely figure, and always has been the pretty one in the family).

Anyway, I’m really just asking if anyone else around my current weight, height and age has lost a good bit of weight and has loose skin, and thinks they look haggard/older, or do you think you look better?

Thank you

I'm slightly younger than you, but my stats are basically identical. I've lost about what you want to and I wouldn't say I have any loose skin. My stomach is a bit crepey but I've had 3 pregnancies and 2 c sections so it could just be to do with that. I don't think there's anything that exercise wouldn't tone up if I had the time and inclination to exercise!

Thanks owlinatree for replying. That’s good to know you don’t have loose skin, I don’t mind my tummy being a bit crepey. I’ve had 2 pregnancies but most of my weight is round my tummy and that’s what made me think I might have loose skin and then with my sister saying I will have loose skin too.

Tell your sister to keep her comments to herself if she can't be supportive
You won't have loose skin - you will feel more healthy and look radiant!!

Thank you gingina I’m hoping I will feel much better about myself when I lose the weight xx

I've lost 5 and a half stone. My face looks so different but not really lose or haggard. If anything I look like I could be my daughter from my before photo.

I do have an odd loose skin tyre round my tummy but I was huge there so that would be expected with such a big weight loss.

Lose it slow and where supportive underwear and things should spring back into place I had a poochy saggy tum for a while buts its smoothed out now and I'm the same age as you. I've lost 3.5 stone so far but haven't gone as low as you're proposing.

The thing to remember is that when you feel the right size you can call it target and stop 😀
