Portion control

Any tips on portion control? I know not to do too much of things... But what is too much?! I have a really be view of what amount of food is acceptable. I have lost sight. If food is in front of me then I will eat it!

How about weighing it? Look on the side of the packet, it will tell you the service size. If it's not from a packet, apps like myfitnesspal or fitbit food tracker will yell you a portion size for any given food, you then weigh/measure it to be sure you're portion control is accurate and not guessed.

There's a very good nhs poster (Google will bring it up) for what one portion of each fruit/vegetable/pulse is. This is very helpful to make sure you have enough vegetables to call it a portion, and not too much sugar-heavy fruit that is far more than one portion.

I don't worry too much about portions. Just don't eat things willy nilly cos you can because it's free. I generally have 3 or 4 small meals a day and then snack on fruit. Putting the 1/3 speed food on your plate first does make it easier to avoid overfilling your plate with the other stuff.

I do measure out stuff like rice, pasta, cous cous etc purely because I always have to avoid making too much and wasting it. I have a small Tupperware pot that I know makes a reasonable portion per person so use that.

Should say when I have 3 meals they're normal sized, it's only when I'm working in the evenings, I'll have 4 small meals.

My friend doesn't have much pasta. Think she said a fistful then she tops it with meat and veggies.
