ON PLAN MAY.. who's with me?!

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 30/04/2018 20:31

April has been a complete write off for me. I'm on plan, then off plan, and back and fourth and I have a stone to lose! I just keep messing about and I've had enough! Can we do this in May everyone?! Post our meal plans and our ups and downs on here?

Let's all do it, and at the end of May we can find out how much we've lost in a whole month and share amongst us!

I'm having two beers with DH right now... Been really good food wise so hopefully this won't ruin things... Can go way under my syns tomorrow! Blush

Amalfimamma · 02/05/2018 22:54

I'm in. Today I had overnight oats , an apple and a banana for breakfast, I had syn free Indian chicken fried rice for lunch, and for dinner I had syn free pasta caprese (used the mozzarella as my heb) and a side salad. Had 2 snacks, am was yoghurt and pm was a fruit salad. I've just finished ironing so sitting down with a glass of wine to watch my soaps.

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 03/05/2018 08:33

@namechanger14 thanks Hun. It is actually so hard to eliminate completely isn't it :( I can't even have tea anymore without sugar so I'm not having any at all and just drinking plenty of water or a hot chocolate instead! I don't need to add sugar to that. I have also reduced my syns so I'm trying to just have between 5-10 syns because the extra 5 syns are there to account for anything extra that I decide to have (like sauces, synned rice packets, jam, etc).

@OuchLegoHurts did you enjoy your beers haha? We all still need some fun, SW is a lifestyle change and not a diet so it's still nice to just let our hair down once in a while

@Amalfimamma that sounds good! I do love seeing daily meal diaries it gives me ideas on what to have lol

Yesterday I missed breakfast and just had the five bean chilli which is 6 syns. Then I just had some fruit, 2 benefit bars which is my hexB then I made a chicken lasagna using half of my hexA in the evening served with salad and sweet potato chips.

This morning I am having quinoa porridge, using 200ml Alpro Soya Chocolate which will be my HexA. I've not decided what else I'm having as of yet but will post on here when I do! I've used 3 syns so far on a milky coffee (175ml skimmed milk as I am already using the Alpro as my hexA).

Have a great day on plan everyone xx

Today I've had an omelette with spinach and tomatoes and two SW sausages mixed in.

For lunch I am having chilli with a jacket potatoe. 3 syns as it was a Schwartz dry packet mix.

For tea don't know yet. Maybe a curry and a bit of rice with green beans.

I'm saving my syns for a bbq on Sunday. I will have 90 syns so I can drink wine. I won't drink 90 syns of wine but I will have ice cream aswell

Amalfimamma · 03/05/2018 11:28

@MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup I normally do a weekly menu on a Saturday so I cut down on waste and shopping. Its my lifesaer

OuchLegoHurts · 03/05/2018 11:59

MilkyCoffee yes I reeeeally enjoyed the beers, and you're right about the odd treat, it doesn't hurt. At least I stayed on plan afterwards, I usually end up sabotaging when the defences are down and I fancy sweet stuff!

Am trying to stay on plan today and keep syns to a minimum.

B: Quark with beries
L: Healthy B bread with ham, lettuce and tomato, dressing
D: SW Spaghetti Bolognese with speed salad

TheBlowersDaughter · 03/05/2018 12:37

I was just about to start this thread, so can I join please Grin

I really don't want to go to the happy flappy group, but could do with some encouragement.

I started last week and have been doing sp and it's going so well I think I will just continue.

Typical day

Salmon, pepper and courgette frittata + alpen bar

Salad, roasted tomatoes, chickpeas or Quorn.

I don't tend to bother with hex but will have a couple of glasses of wine and 25g nuts or a bag of crisps in the evening.

Lost about 4lb so far.

TheBlowersDaughter · 03/05/2018 12:39

Oh, and I've been experimenting with cauliflower - so far egg fried cauliflower rice was lovely. Thinking of trying cauliflower pizza crust tonight.

OuchLegoHurts · 03/05/2018 13:10

TheBlowersDaughter Just make sure you get your Hex B choices in. You need 2 on an SP day because high protein and low carb can cause constipation and you'll need the fibre for a healthy digestive system.

TheBlowersDaughter · 03/05/2018 13:20

Ouch thanks, I have just seen that nuts and Alpen bars are hexb, not sure I can be arsed to count out 30 peanuts though! I do eat tons of veg and beans, so they tend to keep me regular Grin

Sammy900 · 03/05/2018 19:03

Hey day 2 and I need to think of tricks so I'm not wasting all my syns on marg and milk! I also only had 12% fat minced beef in the fridge so used that for a main dish for yesterday and today - again wasting syns. Also I'm constipated I wonder if I should've had 2x slices of wholemeal bread instead of one per day....I think my body is in shock!

Flutterby81 · 03/05/2018 19:24

Hey everyone was a little naughty today and had McDonald’s breakfast but was planned in will go as low syn as I can I til Mondays weigh in! Lunch was Syn free and so was dinner chilli Tuna brocolli spaghetti 🍝 and another gym session. Hope you all have a good evening

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 03/05/2018 20:18

Been on plan today! No problems. Tonight for tea I am doing roasted vegetable couscous which is 1.5 syns. I added some fried/seasoned mixed vegetables, onions and a bell pepper. Serving with a tin of Mackerel in tomato sauce which is free on the plan and cucumber with tomatoes to snack on :) hope everyone has a lovely evening!

And don't worry about the McDonald's breakfast I honestly can't blame you haha! I could murder one in the mornings when I look like I've been dragged through an hedge backwards lol

OP posts:
Amalfimamma · 03/05/2018 20:32

Evening all. Breakfast was 2 weetabix with a bowl of berries and Greek yogurt. Lunch was a grilled chicken breast with steamed carrots and zucchini, and rice. Dinner was burger in a bowl and salad. Snacked on fruit salad

OuchLegoHurts · 03/05/2018 21:33

Doing well everyone! Here's to keeping it up over the weekend...i'm going out on Sunday night but planning on keeping my syns for a few gin and slimline tonics. Will still go over my syns and weigh in is Monday but fingers crossed it won't make too much of a difference if I stay away from the fridge when I get home!!!

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 03/05/2018 22:26

Oh yes weekend is the hardest part for me! I seem to struggle every weekend but I'm absolutely determined to do it. I'm not going to let it slide! Usually I am on plan for breakfast and lunch but when it comes to evening that's when I start grazing on crisps and chocolate and biscuits :( then I just want to slap myself cos I'd started off so well! Breakfast and lunch all prepared for tomorrow. Breakfast is milky coffee (half of hexA), overnight oats (hexB) with quark (flavoured with skinny syrup), topped with blueberries and choc shot (2). Lunch is a Lo Dough wrap (2), 2x lighter triangles (other half of hexA), filled with mixed salad, cucumber and 4 slices of turkey breast, then snacking on strawberries, a satsuma, apple and also a low calorie hot chocolate drink (2). Not sure what's for tea tomorrow so I will think about that nearer to the time lol have a good day on plan everyone! I wait to see the results for weigh in on Monday (weigh day for me).

OP posts:
MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 03/05/2018 22:28

@OuchLegoHurts definitely! Having a treat is a must otherwise I still feel like I'm restricted even though SW is a lifestyle change, not a diet.

@Amalfimamma I have to do weekly shopping now. I tried every fortnight but then I end up running out of lots of stuff and have to end up eating convenience food from the freezer Shock

OP posts:
Amalfimamma · 03/05/2018 22:43

@MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup I know the feeling. I usually have a look at the different supermarkets here, see what's on offer, and style my menus round that. Fortunately I have a field where I grow my own fruit and veg, we have chickens for meat and eggs and we make our own pasta sauce each summer to last the year. Because of this since living here I've learnt of the different ways to conserve fruit and veg.

For example I have to do big freezer bags in my freezer, one is for the peel and end bits of veg that I then use for roasts and gravy. The other is a 15 veg soup mix made from the ends and veg that I couldn't get to eat. Quick, healthy and economical.

Flutterby81 · 04/05/2018 12:15

Well done everyone looks like we are all doing well Smile
I really need to be more organised with meal plans and making & freezing stuff,

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 04/05/2018 18:56

@Amalfimamma I don't have my own garden otherwise I would love to grow vegetables and herbs! I never thought I would ever be interested but I really am now since I eat them all the time lol!

Today has been good so far! I found some really nice multigrain Melba toast from Sainsbury's which are 0.5 syn each! Quite dry, but it will go very nicely with some soup or just some butter on it.

FudgeyCookie · 07/05/2018 17:21

Can I join too please? Got a lot of weight to get rid of!

So far so good today, we are having fishcakes from morrisons for tea at 2 syns each. The thing that I've struggled the most with recently is having my hex b choice. I just haven't been having it.

OuchLegoHurts · 08/05/2018 07:49

Had weigh in yesterday and I was down 3lb! Was delighted.. then had friends over for a BBQ and it was a bit of a disaster, but I'm putting it down as a cheat day and carrying on today. Hoping a few walks and eating well for the rest of the week will work although I've to go to my MIL's house next weekend and that means a night out... Going to try not to drink... Really want to do this!!!

MilkyCoffeeAndSkinnySyrup · 08/05/2018 10:26

@FudgeyCookie welcome Hun! Oh my goodness them fishcakes are absolutely amazing aren't they? I always buy lots of batches and just freeze them I must have it twice a week if not more

@OuchLegoHurts fantastic well done! I haven't been all that good either. It's all about the mindset isn't it?!

Yesterday I started off well, but my DS just drove my up the wall all day. He was grumpy, constantly whining and just made me want to tear my hair out! I ate my weight in doughnuts, and also had a Chinese... my god that Chinese! I'm proper feeling it today. Feel bloated, sick, just generally feeling crap! I'm drinking lots of water, had a fruit bowl and skyr yogurt (1 syn) for breakfast! Not decided what to have for lunch or dinner yet, but it will definitely be on plan!

Hope you all had a lovely bank holiday weekend x
