Hi, I have lost 2 stone and I'm happy with that, have lost every week. Have had the most horrific week and have just got on the scales and weigh 9 lbs more. I'm horrified. They're going to be shocked tomorrow SadSadSad

9lb!!! Are you sure your own scales are correct?

It would be incredibly hard to gain 9lb in a week just through eating

IndianaMoleWoman · 16/09/2017 21:25

You're not the first and you won't be the last! I've been know to stack on 15lb on a one week holiday. Remember it won't all be fat, they'll be some water (google glycogen) that will drop off quite quickly when you get back on plan, you'll have a big loss again next week, just like your first week.

It might take a fair few weeks to lose the whole 9lb but it's better than giving up. Imagine where you could be by Christmas if you lose 1-2lb a week between now and then. You've done brilliantly so far - don't let this blip stop you!

SpooningSteve · 16/09/2017 21:26

Not for me it isn't. I can honestly weigh 14 lbs more. It will drop significantly over the next few days, but that's no help when weigh in is tomorrow.

Yes, my scales are correct every week.

Thanks for the massive shock though....... Sad that's exactly how they'll be tomorrow.

Just checked - 100 days until Christmas! Just over 14 weeks. Depending on your start weight, metabolism etc. you could potentially lose 1-2 stone by Christmas I reckon. Get back on it!

poddige · 16/09/2017 21:34

Off topic - but you can gain 14lb in a week?

IndianaMoleWoman · 16/09/2017 21:34

OP, I know it's going to be tough but please try not to care about how "they" respond tomorrow. They should be very understanding, after all, no one is at Slimming World because they've eaten well every day of their life! If they are negative, try and turn it into a motivator - be determined to prove that you CAN do it next week. This is the acid test of every diet plan there is - getting back on it after a blip.

SpooningSteve · 16/09/2017 21:36

@poddige - yes unfortunately if I eat loads every day - I gained 15 lbs on a 5 day cruise once!!!

@IndianaMoleWoman - thanks so much for your kind words x

They will be all 'oooh you've had a bit of a gain this week, is everything alright? Do you need some support.... here's a food diary' Hmm

I fecking hate it.... don't go! Have a week off

IndianaMoleWoman · 16/09/2017 21:39

poddige yes I can. I have to work hard every minute of every day to resist my overwhelming urge to binge eat junk. If you find this sort of weight gain horrifying/baffling, can I politely suggest that I don't think this thread is for you.

poddige · 16/09/2017 22:14

I find it neither baffling or horrifying @IndianaMoleWoman - I have just never experienced it before so wanted to make sure I had the right end of the stick.

No judgement or rudeness at all from me, was just asking.

lauryloo · 19/09/2017 18:31

How did you end up doing by the class scales?

Groovee · 19/09/2017 21:14

Draw a line under it and start a new. The scales can be a scary thing but you know you can get it off again.
