Slimming World
why do people on SW say they just eat and eat....yet they's lost loads of weight!
ssd · 17/05/2017 21:11
if this is you, what do you eat loads and loads of?
I've heard there are free foods but in reality what do you eat this is between meals or classed as free? and that fills you up!!
have never tried SW BTW
Groovee · 18/05/2017 10:27
There are speed foods which help you lose weight faster, apples Strawbwrries, Melon, carrots, salad.
Then you have free food like beans, meats, quorn, fish, eggs, yoghurts, pasta, rice, potatoes.
Healthy extras is your weighing part for calcium and fibre.
Then syns.
Basically they tell you can eat as much as you like until you are full. 1/3rd of your plate should be speed food and the rest your protein and possibly carbs. All though you can eat loads, it's often that people consider their portions more.
I'm 19 weeks since starting and lost 2st 5.5lb.

Oh I tend to graze. Usually on speed fruit and veg. I eat sugar snap peas the way I used to eat crisps.
ChaosTrulyReigns · 18/05/2017 11:25
What Grovee says!
Give it a try, it's worked wonders for me.
It's a simple plan - that 1/3 speed is there to reduce your calorific portion of your food without actually counting calories.
Let us know how it goes, I've been on it a year and so pleased I walked through that door.

I don't lose more than a couple of pounds because i eat vast quantities of free foods if it's unlimited. I rarely ever eat crisps or biscuits so SW doesn't help me really as I'm not replacing fatty foods with healthier options. It just gives me the green light to stuff my face even more.
ChaosTrulyReigns · 18/05/2017 15:06
Would it be possible to eat vast quantities of the Speed Food rather than the free?
That'll probably work.
sheeeshh · 18/05/2017 15:08
The theory is that if you fill up on 'vast' quantities of speed foods, you are less likely to fill up on other calorific, fatty foods.
Clearly, this works for some but not for others.
I'm loosely following SW and losing weight easily but only because I still count calories and don't eat pasta / spuds / rice.

I eat big meals with the 1/3rd speed food rule and I generally don't snack in between meals. If I do I'll have a few syns of something sweet like a little pack of lotus biscoff biscuits (3syns) with an apple and a free yogurt.

The first time I did slimming world I lost weight by eating lots! But healthier things. So I had 2 eggs on toast for breakfast
Cooked lunch microwaved at work ( usually a curry or chilli ) and big portion
Snack on fruit and carrots all day then a massive dinner
When I would go to my mums for breakfast she would laugh at me for saying that I was on a diet but eat 3 scrambled eggs, ham, baked beans for breakfast! But it worked 😀
Schmoochypoos · 10/06/2017 17:03
You can eat loads and loads but of the right things I.e. Speed foods - filling but low calorie basically. Every meal should have at least 1/3 these.
So you can eat unlimited apples, carrots, broccoli etc. If I was hungry between meals I'd have a cup of veg soup that I'd keep in the fridge.
I lost 21lbs in 10weeks with it!
