Want to rejoin but concerned about breastfeeding

I joined slimming world last July and by November I had lost a stone and a half. I was really happy with my weight and size, and then I got pregnant. I decided not to continue going to SW because I didn't want to pay each week to be told I was gaining weight. However my DD is now 8 weeks old and I would like to rejoin, however I am EBF and I am worried it will affect my supply or amount of calories in my milk if I cut out the calories I am eating.

Had anyone who is EBF joined SW and had any problems? Or has it been fine?

You.get additional healthy extras to compensate for breastfeeding.

A sw diet won't affect your milk supply or the calorie content of you milk in any way, also you get extra healthy extras to compensate for the extra calcium you might need.

I was following SW whilst Ebf managed to lose a stone in 5 weeks, wasn't hungry used my extra healthy extras.
Like yourself I stopped when I fell pregnant and cannot wait til march to re join!

As 'I've said on another thread, I've lost 11.5lb in 6 weeks while breastfeeding. Lots of extra dairy in hea. When I joined they gave me a leaflet that explained it all. Doesn't seem to have affected milk supply at all.

You get loads of he's. I'm still having 4 a's and 2 b's (I have nearly 1 year twins). I think they say at this stage I should just have 1 extra hea but I'm still losing with what they advise for up to 6 months. They say you should also have your syns everyday so you can still eat loads and lose weight.

Your milk will be established by now so just make sure you eat lots and have your syns which is the sw way. Good luck!

Thank you everyone for your replies! I think I will go to my old meeting and have a chat with the consultant. Great to know it hasn't affected anyone's supply Smile

DS is 5 months EBF and I rejoined SW 8 weeks ago. I've lost 1st 8lb so far, but for the first two or three days it did affect my supply because I wasn't using all my syns and I didn't realise I could have extra HEA. Your consultant should give you the breastfeeding leaflet and as long as you follow that properly you'll be fine!

Hi, I joined slimming world a week ago, baby is three and half months. It's not affected anything if anything I'm eating more calcium (healthy extras a) than I did before. I'm having to buy babybels and cheese strings to eat the the extras they recommend. (More than I did before) just had my first weigh in and lost 7.5 pounds! Go for it good luck :)
