Weetabix - why syn value???
diege · 09/08/2015 09:20
Rejoined yesterday and loving the new plan (was a member back on the day of green /red days). Having just tucked into 2 Weetabix and skimmed milk I've realise to my horror that's 6 syns gone ????...I'm sure it used to be a B choice...Can I get away with treating it as one?
MyHeadCantAcceptThis · 09/08/2015 09:25
I think it's the sugar too.
I wouldn't treat it as a B choice. You're just cheating yourself! Record it properly, plan the rest of the day accordingly.
diege · 09/08/2015 09:29
Interesting about the sugar, thanks! Just tempted because it used to be on the B list 8 years ago. Maybe the ingredients have changed, or it's not deemed acceptable now? I remember when tinned spaghetti was free ???? Tbh I am going to struggle with not having 2 B choices now but looking forward to the challenge
dragonflyinthelillies · 09/08/2015 09:29
It is a hexb just checked on the app for you (and hexa for your milk)
2daysFishIsTroutALaCreme · 09/08/2015 09:31
In my book its a B Choice. I joined in Feb this year.

diege · 09/08/2015 09:31
But it's not in the book as a B choice? (though Weetabix minis are..)
Bellossom · 09/08/2015 09:33
Tinned spaghetti is still free too I'm sure, where are you getting your information from
Flisspaps · 09/08/2015 09:35
Website shows it as HExB but the online list on the HE link on the website doesn't include it.
They're HExB in my book, and I count them as my HExB

Flisspaps · 09/08/2015 09:36
Tinned spaghetti also free (which is a win as I didn't know that!)

diege · 09/08/2015 09:36
Ah 2days its under the crisp breads and cereals section and not the cereals!!! Thank you Good old sugar filled Weetabix! Odd it's not listed by the other Weetabix varieties.
diege · 09/08/2015 09:39
When I was last in class the tinned spaghetti was taken 'off' for a while but obviously now back on. Not a deal breaker for me anyway but good to know it's still there.

I use Weetabix as hexb. I make Weetabix muffins for breakfast.
gatorgolf · 10/08/2015 22:04
It is a healthy b but if I remember correctly it's in a really stupid place in the book, don't have my book to hand to check but I think it is under grab and go section (or something like that) rather than being listed with the other cereals
crazybutterflylady · 16/08/2015 08:28
Perfectlypurple could I have your muffin recipe please?
Perfectlypurple · 16/08/2015 17:30
2 Weetabix
Half a miller light (one that is on the free list - I use the vanilla or toffee one)
1 egg
6 tsp sweetner( I find it too sweet so maybe just use 1 tsp)
Put into muffin tins. 1 mix does 3 bake in preheated oven at 180 for about 25 mins. They sometimes need a bit longer if a skewer doesn't come out clean.

It's a b choice but try loading up with fruit and cutting down to just 1 if you want to save half your b choice (I do 1 weetabix and 1 small wholemeal slice of bread for my b choice most days.
