I've not been to class for ages. There's one at 3 today. I should/need/want. To go.
I play with the same 10lb, lose some go on holiday, put it back on etc etc a vicious circle for me. I do feel I've not got much support as my family say I'm not 'fat', but bordering 13 stone is too heavy. I get away with it as I'm 5ft7.
I know where I go wrong, its not the wine, usually it's a bottle, fri & sat- but the crisps that go with it!! Our meals are cooked from scratch and I'm not a chocolate or takeaway monster.

This is my sad storyGrin anyone got words of wisdom?x

Mondayblues2015 · 03/08/2015 20:31

Hi can I join u'r group. I have been on every diet under the sun and am heavier than ever with 5stones plus to lose. I don't want to go back to classes as I think they are waste of money but I need motivated big style and hope a club online might help me more.

Going to start properly on Wednesday

GlitterandSequins · 04/08/2015 10:10

I'm doing it online as I can't guarantee that I can get to class every week, second weigh in tomorrow and I don't know if I've been as strict as I should have been with myself.

I have however found the food diary download really useful to cut down on snacks as having to record it makes me think twice!

HypodeemicNerdle · 05/08/2015 09:04

Ooh Yey, lots more fellow 'losers'
First weightloss (hopefully) weigh in for me this evening. I think the first week has gone ok, although my youngest DD had a birthday and there was cake involved, I'm hoping that didn't derail me too much.
I'm doing a food diary too and it is surprisingly motivating having to write everything down, I'm embarrassed how much diet coke I drink (at least 3 cans a day) I want to ideally drink a lot less

GlitterandSequins · 05/08/2015 11:33

Weighed in this morning and lost 3lb feeling quite chuffed but also motivated to keep going as if I had stuck to plan 100% I may have done even better!

Off to kick start the week with overnight oats followed by a long walk :)

maggieryan · 05/08/2015 17:56

Well done glitterand squeins. I'm off tomorrow and would love a weight loss like that! Just made diet coke chicken receipe and it looks lovely. Kids are getting it too. Made sw lasange but they didn't like it..think they missed the white sauce.. It was a bit bland in fairness!

OP posts:
annielostit · 05/08/2015 18:37

Well done on everyones losses.
Maggie, I don't like the yogurt type topping either. Someone in group uses a tin of asda basic macaroni cheese blitzed up??? I bought aldi lasgane sauce 29 syns a jar, but used half mixed with water and it did cover a A4 size dish./6 portions. Counted 3 for that. + hexa parmasen.
Let us know how the diet coke chicken is.
How's peoples week doing? Mine is OK since Sunday. Being extra strick as I got a full day out on Saturday. Had only 9 syns so far and no hex bs, surely it will help.

GlitterandSequins · 05/08/2015 19:37

maggieryan - Did you manage to get your sauce to thicken? I loved the taste of it but mine ended up like water!

Good luck everyone, we will get there together :)

HypodeemicNerdle · 05/08/2015 20:55

Yey for weight losses already, fab job all
I'm clocking my first loss of 2.5lb, bring on next week!

annielostit · 05/08/2015 22:12

If your filling in a food diary, does it look masses of food??
Mine today says,
Strawberries & raspberries x 2 lots with a dollop of 0% yogurt.
Egg, bacon & tomatoes,
Beef chilli salad & vegetable rice,
Lemon sole fillet, broccoli mushy peas & salad.
1 cadbury mallow - 3 syns.
I suppose there's a bit of veg & salad there,
What's your thoughts?Smile

maggieryan · 05/08/2015 22:13

That's a good idea about cheese sauce annielotsit. I used eggs, natural youghurt and nutmeg and it was so bland and no, glitter it wasn't thick at all so won't be doing it again. Diet coke was okay, looked nicer than it tasted and those ungrateful kids of mine didn't like this eitherConfused...I'm not a good cook but I try. Anyway first week almost over. Onwards and upwardsGrin

There is a way of making cheese sauce with blended cauliflower and cottage cheese, will see if I can did out the recipe. Cauliflower seems to have become the main part of every meal recently for me!

calzone · 06/08/2015 00:21

For the cauliflower sauce.......

Boil cauliflower in vegetable stock.
Fry lots of garlic in fry light.
Drain cauliflower keeping stock. Blend with handblender adding the garlic and stock as you go til you get sauce like consistency. Add seasoning and cheese if you like. Voila! White sauce.

maggieryan · 06/08/2015 09:02

Thanks for that calzone. Will give it a try. I also bought loads of cauliflower because it seems to be in a lot of the receipes. Annie, that looks like loads alright until you go through it and most of if is free. Im always so used to half starving myself on diets it's hard to accept you can eat so much on this!

OP posts:
GlitterandSequins · 06/08/2015 13:40

Thanks calzone - the recipe I have includes a tub of cottage cheese when blitzing but the rest of it is the same.

I find it easy to get my meals that are based on free food but sometimes struggle to include my 1/3 superfree, especially at breakfast and lunch.

Any top tips?

annielostit · 06/08/2015 13:53

Very true about half starving yourselves. Am waiting for my giant jacket potato to cook, its wait or a fresh baked crusty roll from lidl??? Wwyd???Grin

Haylsher · 06/08/2015 14:59

Hiya need help!! Started slimming world menus. This is my menu for today: breakfast: ham and egg basket and banana. Lunch: crab stick salad with sw seafood sauce and berries and yogurt fat free. Dinner: sw spaghetti Bol. Snacks throughout day sw houmous and carrot sticks. Is this ok feels like a lot. Please help I'm confused!! Hmm

annielostit · 06/08/2015 16:33

Sounds OK haylsher, all free. I think food in general seems lots too. I put one day in mfp and it came out 1300cals so it must be OK. Just make sure you have veggies & fruit where. Possible. X

HypodeemicNerdle · 06/08/2015 19:48

Ok, TMI question here but is anyone else suffering from an upset stomach as a result of the diet? I wasn't feeling brilliant last week but today has been really bad, currently eating plain baked potato in an effort to calm things down. Any ideas?

maggieryan · 06/08/2015 21:53

No sorry my stomach is fine. Could be just coincidence you have upset stomach as yoy start sw? Just got my first weight in and 3.5lvs down. Delighted. Will aim for another two next week. How is everyone else doing?

I've started SW this week having never done it before. Work shifts so can't get to classes so giving it a go using the help of others online. Just come back from an all inclusive holiday so it's time to be good!
It seems to be going well so far, it's all about forward planning it seems!
Just tucked into SW spag bol and a muller lite - can't be bad!

annielostit · 07/08/2015 07:04

Sorry hypo,No stomach issues here either, we could swap if you like. I get ibsC, ant help would be welcomed.
Good luck nurse, its nice to feel content after you've eaten. Starving in not in my vocabulary.
Am proud of myself today, no wine o'clock last night = no giant bag of Sensation's!!!! And after a cake making session yesterday, still have 12 chocolate fudge cupcakes. That's a step forward.

nurse1987 · 07/08/2015 09:20

That is a superb effort baking and not tucking in Annie!
Hypo - I've been struggling a bit with my stomach since starting - maybe it's the increased fruit and veg?
Can I just check how many syns you all count a cup of tea/coffee splash of milk no sugar - some days I use the milk as my HEA however having cheese with my dinner tonight so want to save it for that Wink
Hope everyone had a lovely breakfast!

PerfumedGal · 07/08/2015 23:40

Hello all. I'm doing my first week. I started on Monday but am dying to step on the scales already. I don't 'feel' any lighter but I know I'm consuming only half of what I've been having for the past few years. I've discovered healthy spag bol and muller lights. Last night family tucked into fajitas with trimmings and I served the chicken and veg on boiled rice for myself. I'm already tired of taking salad to work for lunch so need to find some lunchspiration from somewhere. Today went to a pub and instead of my usual burger, chips and a pint of lager I had a chicken salad and diet coke. Oooh I've changed.

Going to the cinema tomorrow. Watching Tom Cruise yum. I'd like to save my Syns up to have him! Used to love emptying a grab bag of bite size chocolates into a large sweet popcorn. Not sure carrot and celery sticks will be appropriate snack food!

Hope everyone is having is good week Grin

ObsidianBlackbirdMcNight · 08/08/2015 10:05

I'm starting tomorrow. Can you please help me make sense of it? I've just joined online because I can't commit to a group.

So the extra easy plan is - lots of free food, one Healthy a and one healthy b per day which don't count in your syns, and 5-15 syns per day? Have I got the basic principle right?
And you can do sp days that are jut super free and protein free foods?
I have 2 stone to lose to my comfortable weight but technically to be under 25 bmi it should be 2.5
