Hi everyone

Am at a loss as to how to shift the three stones I've gained over the last few years! I've tried a few things usually last about a month & then give up. All of these have been pretty extreme things that I hated plus exercise so I want to try something slow & steady. Something that I can do with someone else keeping an eye in me.

The problem is I have family on the diet & they swear that they eat carbs all the time! (I don't think they've lost much weight) how can that work surly carbs are fat?

Anyway do you think it would help me? My downfalls are my sweet tooth & carb overloads.

Thanks

Hi

Can I join? I started SW last week and lost 2.5lb first week. Ideally I would like to lose 3 st.

I did SW previously in 2008 and lost 3.5 St. It's changed a bit since then.

You can definitely do SW low carb. As long as you have your HEB you can live off protein and veg if you want. It speeds off the weight but it is not a cheap way to eat.

I'm almost at 4 stone loss on sw... I love it. Just keep going slow and steady :) x

You are all so brave trying the recipes haha I think I'll fall flat on my bum there! I want to do coke chicken they said it's amazing on my first day! Turns out I'm heavier than expected so feeling down and been naughty this week! The tip I got was don't try to abide by the recipes too much do your own thing! Have you seen the sun free shopping lists hanging around for as da, Aldo tesco morrisons and Iceland? I had no idea how some of them work!

For me I'm really struggling with milk, I'm a full fat girl and have used all my milk this morning!! Not Good!

Made mini quiches last night - they are amazing !

stargirl123 · 20/06/2015 12:37

Syn not sun oops

KatharineClifton · 20/06/2015 12:40

stargirl - you get a lot more if you use almond milk. It's lovely in tea and coffee. It's expensive though so just for me and not the kids.

stargirl123 · 22/06/2015 13:36

isnt it quite sweet though Almond milk? i used the slimming world meatballs last night, they were fab fab fab!

CiderwithBuda · 23/06/2015 11:20

Stargirl - you can get unsweetened almond milk. I've never tried in tea or coffee though.

Can you gradually switch down to semi skimmed at least? Try mixing one quarter semi skimmed with three quarters full fat for a few days and then try half semi and half full fat etc.

Hope everyone is having a good week. First weigh in for me tomorrow. I 'relaxed' a little over the weekend and regretted it Monday morning as I gained the 2lbs I had lost! Been really good since so hopeful i will have a loss tomorrow.

stargirl123 · 23/06/2015 13:24

thats a good idea!! will start doing that :) i get so tempted when i see it in the fridge though haha! i've started doing the overnight oates now so wont be as much of a problem i reckon!!

LadyMaryofDownton · 23/06/2015 13:43

Oh hello everyone, not sure how I missed all those posts!! I was so bad this week, I ate the most delicious loaf of white bakery bread with lashings if butter then had a Chinese last night so I had 1lb on. It was totally worth it lol let's face it we have to indulge sometimes :)

How's everybody else getting on??

I drink soya milk sometimes or the low fat but that's because I've never tried the full fat milk before so I don't know any better!

No recipies this week but I am trying diet coke chick tonight so I'll let you all know how that goes.

Also I just bough a size 12 dress!!! That's a size down already which feels good. Slow & steady is working for me. I love SW :) :)

I stayed the same and was so disappointed as I've been really good.I did eat lots of really salty food yesterday and am probably premenstrual as was 2 pounds down until this morning.I Guess's the important thing is not to let it get me down and carry on with the plan( easier said than done).

stargirl123 · 23/06/2015 20:31

Tomorrow is my weigh in and my 1st one - I've had a very bad week and I'm currently sat having a carvery "sigh" hard work this healthy eating thing !! Might go home depressed tomorrow haha ! I'm really good during the day that's the worst part haha ! Don't be disheartened canny at least you didn't gain that's the main thing! ! Sometimes you stop loosing it so much in weight and more in waist

CiderwithBuda · 24/06/2015 13:33

3.5 lbs off for me this week. Happy enough with that.

stargirl123 · 24/06/2015 17:16

LadyMaryofDownton · 24/06/2015 18:49

Thanks LadyMary.

I'm walking and doing something called Tonacise. It's hard to describe but basically exercising using machines! I'm using a Fitbit and I start d a walking challenge thread on here - aiming for 10,000 steps a day. I'd like 15,000 but haven't managed it yet. It's a lot of walking! Grin

CiderwithBuda · 24/06/2015 23:17

Oh - I met a lady at SW this morning who has lost 13.5 STONE! 8.5 of it with SW. She is amazing.

stargirl123 · 25/06/2015 10:15

Thank you !! It was ny 1St weigh in thiugh! walk the dog? ;) on a weekend I walk her for an hour "speed walking" too! I've downloaded an app on my phone that reminds me to drink water as well so that's really useful! Other than sat I'm just sticking to the plan really !
