How does SW work?

Can anyone tell me how SW works or what you have to do? I'm thinking about joining and was looking online last night, obviously they're not silly enough to tell you how it works without joining, but it said no points and no calorie counting, I'm intrigued!

I don't know if it's changed recently but when I was on it a few years ago there were certain foods you were allowed to eat unlimilted amounts of. In general it was healthy low fat foods but there was a list. Then you were allowed 15 "sins" per day in addition. Five sins was roughly equal to a kitkat, a bag of crisps or a glass of wine. I think there was also a dairy allowance. It did work for me but I found it a bit boring long term. I prefer my fitness pal which is free.
