My 2.4 yr old likes to take herself off to bed for a nap during the day saying she's tired. My Mum passed a comment today that she thought this wasn't normal. I'm sure it is isn't it? She sleeps for 1-2 hrs. Just looking for some ressurance really!

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Of course it's normal. All children are different. My dd stopped napping at 13 months, my niece is still napping at 2.7. Some children still nap up to school age.

I still give my 2.9 year old a lunch time nap - sometimes he ha to take a 10 minute catnap if we're off out to activities. But if we're at home I will put him to bed and he has between 40 minutes and sometimes I have to wake him after 2 hours.

3 is a pretty common age to drop the nap (trying to get my 3 yr old to drop hers at the moment!)

DD is 3.2 and still naps most days
