Seperation anxiety/teething help needed desperately!!

Bit of a long story but will try and keep it short!
DD has never really had any problems when it comes to bed time, she was always really happy to sleep in her cot, I would put her to bed at about 7pm and she would go to sleep by herself. If she did wake in the night, a little cuddle and she would be happy to go back in her cot to sleep.

Recently she has started to scream as soon as we put her to bed in her cot, it sometimes takes up to an hour to settle her. If she has woken in the night (which is becoming more frequent) the only way to get her to go to sleep is to put her in our bed (which I don't like to do as DP is a very deep sleeper and may squash her). I have got her to sleep on my tummy, but as soon as i try to put her back in to cot, she wakes up and screams again.

Poor little thing hasn't had a good night's sleep in weeks and I hate to see her so distressed. Has anyone any advice they could offer, we're all so tired...

I know she's teething again and she has calpol and teething gel through the night, but I think this may be more a seperation anxiety issue. We're also in the process of moving house and we're staying with MIL. Her routine times are the same, but she just doesn't seem happy to go in her cot (she's very happy and smiley during the day though)

ANy help gratefully accepted xx

Sounds tough! How old is she?

dizzytrout · 28/06/2010 11:44

She's 8.5 months, she was grand until abut 7 months I would say. I wish I could read her little mind

Could you put the cot next to your bed?

dizzytrout · 28/06/2010 11:55

I don't think there's enough room OnEdge, but I have a feeling even that wouldn't work, she is inconsolable if you put her anywhere near it bless her

Probably won't help solve the problem, but maybe this is why the sleep has gone to pot recently?

Yeah, that makes sense Inmaculada, I knew it was a combination of things, she's going through such a lot at the minute and us putting her through a house move musn't be helping...
