DS1 is a bit of a rubbish sleeper. He twists and turns and is up and down the bed all night. He fell out of bed twice last weekend sleeping in a single bed (has a double at home). He used to come into our room in the night, and even if we put him back, he'd come back in two or three times (almost sleep walking). We've stopped this by putting a door chain on our bedroom door He isn't yet dry at night, and sleeps through a bed wetting alarm.
So... he wakes really early (from about 5am onwards). I think if I let him come into my bed he'd go back to sleep, but I don't want to do that. So he goes downstairs and watches TV / plays Wii or Xbox until DS2 and I get up (about 7:45).
He went through a phase of going to sleep really late (11pm), which we managed to eradicate with phenergan. Would it help to give him phenergan to get him to sleep later, or do some kids need much less sleep. Last night he probably went to sleep between 8:30 and 9:00pm, so not massively early. Even if he's very late to bed he still gets up early.
Just worried that he's not getting enough sleep! Am I compounding the problem by letting him go downstairs? He'd probably cry if I kept him in his room which would wake me and DS2, but might work eventually?
