co sleeping? what is it?

Sorry if I don't understand... but so many mums debating on mumsnet discuss co sleeping...

does this mean baby in the bed with you?

or

baby in a cot in the same room?

In bed with you - although there can be several variations. Some people take the baby into bed part way through the night. Some use a co-sleeper (bedside) cot. Some (like me) have a baby on a mattress next to theirs rather than actually in their bed.

I think people generally mean the baby is in bed with you. It was a lifesaver with both my dcs, who were atrocious sleepers.
