5 & 3 yo waking up between 5.15-6.30 HELP

I can see that most of the threads are about younger babies/toddlers but my 5 and 3 yo go to sleep at round 7 but wake up at between 5.15 and 6.30 am.

How can I change their sleep pattern so that they are waking up later. I have keeping them up an hour later but they still wake up very early. Please help.

Bumping this for you as my 3 and 4 yo are exactly the same, its killing me. Its always in the summer even with blackout blinds, they just wake really early.

So glad it's not just mine! Both were sleeping okay until around 6.30am every morning and then these last 2 weeks my daughter has started waking up between 5.15 - 5.45am and then my son joins her. They are both knackered and really grumpy at the end of the day and can't say I'm fairing much better!

I was thinking about getting one of those bunny clocks for them both so they know not to get up until the bunny is awake . . . not sure that will help them sleep any longer though, might just let me get some more!

my 3yo gets up any time after 5, so do i
it's not that bad as long as you're in bed by 10ish - in fact when i'm back at work it'll be ideal so i'm not looking to change it

My DD (2.5) and DS (1) are waking at 5.30am at the moment. It is killing me too. The sun is coming up at 5am at the moment. In winter DD slept until 8am those were the days. I have blackout blinds but the sun comes round the side of them. I've been going to bed at 9.30pm as I'm shattered.

dd (6) and ds (3) have digital clocks in their rooms and they are only allowed to come through in the morning when the clock says 7:00 (unless they need the toilet - but they have to go back to their room till 7am anyway). DS had his clock from around 2 1/2 years. DD had fairy lights on a timer for a while and when they stopped working we got the digital clock. DS is in bed for 7.30pm and dd is in bed for 7.45pm.

the problem is Seona, they would happily stay in their room but they make a lot of noise and so disturb the neighbours. I've got some black out blinds I'm going to put up today so we'll see how it goes, but I've become soooo tired it's unreal. I have to wait until before I sleep in order to ensure the dc's go to the toilet but I do pretty much crash straight afterwards.

If its just the light that's the problem, we've got these - total blackout here

Not pretty, but if its just for the summer, it works!
