Our DS is 2.3 and we are having bedtime issues since moving him into a bed. He wakes up several times a night and wakes for the day at 6am. I know 6am isn't desperately early but he really really needs an extra hour as he doesn't drop off to sleep until 8pm. He comes into our room at 6am and annoys us asking for drinks etc and I do my very best to get him back to sleep. When he does go back to sleep he is in a very good mood for the day. When he doesn't, don't we just know it!!

We are thinking about buying the Gro Clock to keep him in his room until 7am as it would be better for everyone concerned if he slept that extra hour in his own room (I know it might not happen but at least he wouldn't be poking my eyes and shouting at me!)

Any good reports about this product you can share with me?

I like it. I bought it for my DS1 as I thought it's not fair to leave him shouting in his room for mummy if he has no idea what time it is! He is now 2.2. Got it about 2 months ago. It's not a miracle cure in that for someone that young (I think I read somewhere that they don't understand the concept till about 30 months old?), it takes a lot of reinforcement for them to understand. In the beginning, if he woke before 7am, we went in and told him that the sun is still sleeping and not time to wake up yet ('Moon is for sleeping, sun is for wake up!'). And then we try to leave him till 7am before we went and got him and made a big fuss of 'Sun wake up!!!!!!!!!!!' Even if it means one of us going in to stay with him till 7am.

We are now finally seeing the rewards of our persistence. This morning, I could hear DS1 calling softly for mummy once or twice. Then he went quiet and when 7am came around, I could hear him shouting 'Mummy, sun wake up!' Good luck!
