How do I change dd's routine?

My dd is 5 months. She is great during the day and has naps no problem, nighttime is where I am having problems.

SHe goes down between 7 and half 7. We will give her a dream feed at 11. She will then wake at around 3/4am and have a small feed (maybe 3oz). She then sleeps until 6/7. But the thing is, she will then go without another feed until 9/9.30!! How can I get her to go that stretch in the night? Does she really need that 3/4am feed because she is never exactly screaming to be fed. Is she waking out of habit? Sorry, million questions.

Any experience/suggestions would be greatly appreciated. OK, gotta go feed her now.

I'd stop doing the dream feed, and then feed her when she wakes up for it. That way she'll be hungry enough to have a big feed

Thanks CMO. We have tried dropping it but she tends to wake up half an hour later anyway looking for it. She will have a good feed then (which for her is 5oz).

Our DD did exactly that at 5 months (she's now 6 months) and we increased her 7pm milk feed (not 11pm dream feed as this is the one we wanted her to drop once she was on solids) and tried giving her cool boiled water instead of milk at 4am as she only had a couple of oz anyway. The next few nights she still woke up and whimpered at 4am but eventually stopped as she knew she would only get water and was waking out of habit. Then DD was hungrey when she woke up at 6/7. We feed DD milk at 7.30am, then at 11am then at 2.30pm then just before bed at 6.30pm and she sleeps through until 7am next morning. We used to dream feed at 11pm but have just droped this as she didn't really want it anymore. This way she got all her nutrition in the day and didn't wake at 4am anymore! Good luck!
