I am a new mom and my newborn 9 days old, just sleeps all the time. feeds sleeps... only awake for 20 min here and there, was awake once for about an hour but thats it.

do you think this is normal? is she not thriving? she is eating and doing lots of nappies... but she seems so lethargic...

I am grateful for the peace but at the same time worried....
anyone know about this?

Hi, sounds perfectly normal to me - make the most of the peace & quiet so you can get plenty of rest because this stage doesn't last long! If you are concerned then I'd recommend talking to your Health Visitor about it.

My little boy was the same. He still naps at least half the day at 12wks and sleeps 12 hrs at night!

Hi missy - when she IS awake, is she alert? Or is she dopey and half-asleep?

I was worried about my ds at that age, for the same reason, and that's what my hv asked me (he was fine)
