Doing NCSS - surely it should be getting better by now?

Hello, new to post but have been reading for a while for moral support as am in sleep deprivation hell!

9 month old dd is waking every 1-2 hours - for instance last night she went to bed at 7.45 and woke at 9, 11, 12, 2, 4, 5 and got up at 6.

She is not being fed 7-7 and having followed the advice in 'No Cry Sleep Solution' will drop off by herself in the cot without anyone in the room when she goes to bed. Also we are now at the point where about half the time I just go in and say "night night" and she will drop off again. The other times I just have to lie her down from sitting up (i.e. not take her out of cot).

She has always been a bad sleeper although we have had phases of 3-4 hour stretches.

I can't believe she is still like this - shouldn't we be seeing some improvement by now?

Has anyone got any results in the end with NCSS?? Starting to think its all a load of rubbish!

It does take a while (weeks to months), but tbh, I'd wonder why you don't consider giving one feed during the night ?

Thanks CMOT, thought it would be getting better after 2 months!

Feed-wise I weaned her off the dream feed as thought it was encouraging her to wake up if she thought she might get fed ...she was waking a similar amt of times when she had a feed at 10-11pm.

9 months is classic separation anxiety time and they can become more wakeful (!)

NCSS is a long haul method so 2 months probably isn't too unusual

Cheers Ruby, I guess we just have to keep on with it, just feeling a bit desperate this morning... last night dp announced he's been made redundant!
