Lowering cot height

This might be a really stupid question, but if you have one of those cots where the base raises to half way up, when should you lower it down again? A friend said recently that for safety you should do it when your baby can roll over, but that sounds a bit early to me. I don't want to put my back under any more strain than it already is!

I wouldn't do it until your DC is pulling themself up, as only then casn they risk toppling over the side.
