Back molers and bad sleeping - how long does it last?

My ds is coming up to 20 months. It look us until 18months to get him to sleep a little better and we had two blissful months of either sleeping through or only one night waking. But last week he has been a nightmare again!

He's waking constantly through the night and screaming. He will then wake very early and give up trying to continue to sleep and want to get up.

We have resorted to two bottles of milk in the night and even put him in our bed (but he sees that as a sign of playing with mummy and daddy). Needless to say we are exhausted especially as we both work full time.

So I am guessing its the start of the dreaded back molers. We gave him some medicine last night, which helped him a bit (still up twice but did sleep in til 7). My question is how long will this last???

Ds has always been terrible with teething and sleep and I thought we'd turned a corner but its all happening again and I'd just like to know on average how long it will go on for this time!
