Dh just gone back to work. Would people be trying to get their dc at 3 wks to nap
in nursery or be happy to leave in Moses basket downstairs?

If the baby napped anywhere, I'd be happy.

My personal preference would be for the baby to be near me.

At 3w the baby napped anywhere and everywhere. I might take him with me, or leave him in the room we had been in. He might fall asleep in my arms, or next to me on the sofa or bed. Sometimes I carried him, generally I put him down if he was asleep. Didn't really worry about it. Other than keeping nighttimes quiet and dim, we didn't try to set any routine until 2-3m.

I have my 6 wk DS downstairs in the carry cot.

Its easier for feeding and changing, plus I'm terrified of coming down the stairs with him, so once he's down here, he stays until we go up to bed in the evening.

downstairs in carry cot for your benefit

newborns don't often go to sleep and stay asleep for a long enough period for it to be worth you going to the bother of taking him upstairs

so to save your legs i would say with you. if i had put my dd in her cot upstairs I would have been up and down like a whores drawers!
